Dear Audience & Examiner

You will see listed links to the blogs of A2 Media Students Class of 2010 here at Kings Langley School and copies of their videos under my posts.

They were set the task to produce a short film in its entirety and accompanying marketing material in the form of a postcard and film review page.

The students were supported in changing the brief from film poster to postcards as research and advice from industry specialists, suggested that short films conventionally used this form of marketing to target a specific audience on a small budget.

Thank you and enjoy.

Introduction

The purpose of this unit is firstly to assess your ability to plan and construct media products using appropriate technical and creative skills; secondly to assess your application of knowledge and understanding in evaluating your work, showing how meanings and responses are created; and finally to assess your ability to undertake, apply and present appropriate research. The unit requires you to engage with contemporary media technologies, giving them the opportunity to develop your own skills in these technologies. It also enables you to develop the skills of presentation that are required for further study at higher levels and in the workplace.
